Whenever we get a roughneck like this, we make sure that he has all of the tools to succeed, but more often than not, they don't make use of them to better themselves. Just because you can hold down a day job for two weeks at a time doesn't make you a success in life. Like most people, he has dreams. But unlike the vast majority of hard working people in this society, he just doesn't have what it takes to make his dreams come true, even in part. Having been exposed to this population for years, we at the House know why, too. We try to impart our plain and simple wisdom to these guys, but sometimes it's like giving a free speech lecture to a Berkeley student - they just refuse to understand the concept.
